Second International Conference on Conservation and Management of the Balkan Freshwater Fishes (COMBAFF)

Following the initiative of our colleagues at the Hydrobiological Institute in Ohrid, Macedonia, and after the successful First Conference that was held also in Ohrid in May, 2009, it is our pleasure to invite you to the Second COMBAFF which will be held between 1^st and 3^rd September, 2010; organized by the Department of Aquaculture, Institute of Environmental and Landscape Management, Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences of Szent István University, Gödöllő, Hungary (www.sziu.hu).

The objective of the meeting is to bring together people involved in science, research, development and innovation as well as production and services who are in one way or another linked to fish biology, aquaculture, fisheries or conservation of fish species inhabiting the Balkan peninsula.

The Scientific Committee will select the papers that can be accepted for oral and poster presentations. Negotiations are under way to be able to publish selected materials in a scientific journal following peer-review.

Deadline for abstract submission: May 31^st, 2010.

Organizing committee:

*Assoc. Prof. Béla Urbányi, Head of the Department of Aquaculture;

*Dr. Zoran Spirkovski of the Hydrobiological Institute of Ohrid (organizer of the first conference);

*Dr. László Váradi, Director of the Research Institute for Aquaculture, Fisheries and Irrigation (HAKI), Szarvas, Hungary as deputy heads.

Magdolna dr. Müllerné Trenovszki, Board Member of European Aquaculture Society, and President of EAS Student Group.

Full registration cost: 100 EUR, including the conference package, accommodation and meals during the meeting. Registration form will be posted in the end of February, 2010.

Scholarship: supporting all costs for one student from each participating country will be announced.
