The Research Institute for Fisheries Aquaculture and Irrigation (HAKI) is one of 7 strategic research institutes of the Ministry of Rural Development. It is a leading institute for applied research and development in the field of aquaculture and fisheries in Hungary. In the framework of an EU FP7 project, it has 5 postdoc postions available. In the January/February edition of our EAS newsletter, we informed EAS members of the passing away of Dr. Mudnakudu Nandeesha and the setting up of the Nandeesha Medical Assistance Fund. We have since received a tribute and message of thanks from his wife, Rajeswari Dayal, to all those that sent messages of support. You can read it here....

The report is a PDF mini-compilation of articles published in the December issue of the EAS Aquaculture Europe magazine, with summaries of the keynote speakers' presentations, the carp roundtable, the poster awards, the Student Group workshop and the Honorary Life Membership award made to Patrick Sorgeloos.

The FAO Aquaculture Service is pleased to announce the publication on the Internet of the FAO Aquaculture Photo library. The photo library contains more than 1 600 high resolution photos. Many of them come from the FAO historical photo archive and others come from the Aquaculture Service staff. All users are invited to submit their photos.
This is the title of the first of four workshops - The AQUACULTURE FORUM BREMERHAVEN 2012 – 2013 - that bring together international business and science to contribute to future developmental needs of the European aquaculture industry.
